Thank you all for all of your kind comments on that project. I love you all so much for your encouragement. I really enjoy doing digital painting now that I’ve gotten used to the tablet and not being able to turn my paper to get a better angle to draw with…but…I still feel like doing work like this is little like cheating because you can use an infinite amount of layers until you get stuff right and delete the crappy ones at will and OMG I LOVE THE UNDO COMMAND!!!
These are not luxuries one has when putting pen or pencil to paper nor paint to canvas. I wish I could get this detail with my colored pencils and I’m still afraid of oil paints. I feel like most of you guys could do this if you spent hours getting used to that tablet and hoarded as many reference photos of David Tennant as I have.

DO NOT EVER DO THIS!!!! PLEASE!!! I’m just old and have drawn a lot of pictures (more crappy ones than good ones) but these digital paintings take less talent than they do skill…and by that I mean, you just have to neglect everything else in your life for hours at a time and keep practicing. Also, play all your computer video games with the tablet because then using it becomes second nature. Unfortunately, I’m serious about that last comment.

Everybody Lives - Claire Salcedo
I always think it’s odd whenever I type my name next to a song. Like: “hey! That’s my name! Wait, what? I wrote a song? Why did I do that?”
Rambly tangent aside, this is a combination of the series one episode “The Doctor Dances” and series 4 episode “Forest of the Dead”. I hope you like it! (I’m aware the video quality is not all that good. Sorry!)
And you know, even if you don’t watch Doctor Who, I hope you listen to and like this anyways! (I’m not sure you’d even know if I hadn’t told you. Good thing? Bad thing? Who knows!)

I’m supposed to do three drawings this weekend…
But I drew this one instead…
This time I used none of the colors…
So far today I’ve:
- Watched the end of Ep4 of Merlin (since I fell asleep last night after all the wine)
- Drank 4 cups of coffee and 2 glasses of Iced tea
- Ate Shrimp etoufee
- Watched Ep. 4 of The Last Enemy
- Watched Doctor Who: The End of Time Part 1 (which is why I started to draw vacation Doctor)
- Listened to the 1st quarter of LSU v. Florida game
And now I’m going to walk to the Awesome Art on the Bayou Festival because I need to go outside. Also it’s art and they put the word “Awesome” in the name so it must be awesome, right?
