Tuesday was, of course Mardi Gras Day.
My husband and I don’t go downtown New Orleans to celebrate anymore but the boys still do. The youngest was handcuffed and “detained” during one parade because he was an ass. But they had bigger fish to fry than a kid who touched one of the floats during the parade so they let him go after cussing him out and scaring him. If you ever come to New Orleans, do not do this. He was lucky he was not drinking. He still caught a lot of stuff thrown from the floats. I guess he’s going to decorate his room in beads….

To add to the celebration, we received the most awesome poppers/crackers from Jennifer because she is awesome. She also sent art and a letter that I keep reading because it makes me so happy (and she is the funniest person I know). She said I could share the crowns or wear them all myself. One of the boys went out still wearing his but I’m sure he claimed he was the king of his Krewe.

The pic of me wearing mine was on one of their cameras but they haven’t sent it to me yet.
The poppers/crackers that neither popped nor cracked we’re beautifully hand made and had little presents and candies. This one was my favorite.

I wonder what Lottie will trade for the Bacon Card.
I love you Jennifer!

After having a chat with Jennifer about shrimp boots (cajun reeboks) I remembered that just 2 weeks ago, my husband had to be forced to remove his before attending an event relating to his daughter’s wedding type thing at a country club down on the bayou in Thibodaux, LA. He thought they went nicely with his tie.

This is the right color, Jennifer.
I’m not sure why.
I still want to call mine wellies.
Jennifer says: “As long as they aren’t pink or ~patterny~
Mine are exactly pink AND patterny which you can almost tell in this photo.

If my accent or lack thereof didn’t target me as a damn yankee, my boots did.

And this is why I love you, and why I love Tumblr.
And I love you back. I love Tumblr so much that I’m often late for work because I can’t leave until I have lots of coffee and check out what I missed the night before.

Tricia = fabulous.
The Claire=Magnifcent
I also have to give Todd some points here because he might not always share my obsession with toys and awesome things, but he plays along and was willing to drive with Beaker on his hand while I took pictures.

So awesome! I have the entire set of muppet finger puppets that starbucks put out like 9 years ago. My favorite is Beaker!
I missed that giveaway!!! This ain’t my first Muppet Show…hahaha. One of my favorite memories of my dad is how we always spent Sunday evenings eating pizza and watching the Muppet Show and laugh so hard. One Christmas, he got me an Animal Muppet with eyebrows that moved and a full body.

This might be my favorite photo.
Awww. Beaker thanks you. I may leave him in my car on the gearshift or something so I can entertain myself other commuters on my drive to and from work…ya know, quell the road rage with some Beaker.
This is a Christmas photo of my best childhood friend (Animal). I think I must have been about 11 or 12 here. Actually, I wonder if I stopped maturing on this particular day because I was so happy.

ugh, this is so amazing. YOU are so amazing. Tricia, is there somewhere I can buy your Ten prints?? because I would like to add them to my wall of awesome. also, I LOVE YOU. xoxoxoxoxo
Thank you! I love you, too! You absolutely may not buy them, but I will send you prints any time you want.

That is incredible! Wow! You are really good!
Thanks! I’m really trying to get back to doing more art on paper instead of the computer. I have to do so much on computer for work that I really miss making mistakes that can’t be fixed by an “undo” command. :)

wait, I thought we were supposed to be drawing nudes of 10? this is fantastic
And so we shall. You don’t happen to have any good reference photos I can borrow, do you? YOU are FANTASTIC.

…for the reference photos.

Tricia this is so good!!!
Sarah and The Claire are so amazing and talented that when they say something is good, it is an awesome confidence booster. Thank you both so much. (And I totally typed “The Claire” by instinct because that is how I think of the one and only you). See how powerful this Tumblr thing is?

this is so beautiful,…love it so very much. ugh, Tricia! you are amazing.
I thought about you a lot when drawing Ten. I kept wanting to make sure that it was good enough for you to tell who he was and I’m so happy you liked it. Thanks for being so sweet.

I want to use all the colors on him. #this line
Right? It was the least dirty thing I could think of at the time. My husband asked if he should worry about this and I told him, “No, I’m not in love with David Tennant, I love the Tenth Doctor, who happens to be PRETEND!” but yeah…still…can’t deny I find hotness under that Doctor suit.

BE ALL SAFE AND WHATNOT! I use caps because I think you’re important. *HUG!*
Thank you for thinking I’m important. Even if the storm isn’t a really bad one, I still worry about the trees. I mean, I don’t worry about the old trees in the neighborhood in general and I don’t lose sleep over my concern for them, but I worry more about the trees’ relationship with my roof. We should be fine.

UGH. be safe and come here if things get bad, or even if they don’t. I LOVE YOU. xoxoxoxoxoxo
I’ll be safe and I love you too. I won’t go out unless I’m walking the dog which was already so much fun this morning. The wind was making him walk sideways but he’s all of 7 lbs. Also, I’m known in my family for riding out storms, but usually after one day without A/C or toast, I jump in the car and pop in on relatives living on the east coast or in Ohio until my husband calls and says the power is restored. If you are not careful you could end up on the list but I’d have to make a quick stop in Iowa to kidnap pick up a surprise guest.
